Launch of Asylum Principles

Churches Together in Britain and Ireland this week published 'Asylum Principles', which will enable the Churches to speak with one voice on asylum issues. A similar document will follow focusing on migration.

This ecumenical Statement of Principles draws on statements made by Churches and will equip the reshaped Commission for Racial Justice, member Churches and Bodies in Association with CTBI to ‘speak out with a common and prophetic voice in the highly charged asylum debate’.

It says ‘The Churches have a mission to support people seeking asylum, often destitute, traumatized by their experience, and almost always living in fear.’
