Scottish Churches’ annual racial justice conference

The Scottish Churches’ Annual Racial Justice Conference, entitled Standing Together Against Racism, will be held on Saturday 11 June 2005 in Adelaide Baptist Church, 209 Bath Street, Glasgow, from 10.15 am to 3 pm.

Places at the event, which is supported by the Action of Churches Together in Scotland (ACTS), Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) and the Churches Commission for Racial Justice, are £5 each, including a copy of the Racial Justice Sunday resource pack.

The main speaker at the event will be Professor Geoff Palmer. The conference will be followed by workshops and launch of 'A guide for churches offering advice and support on racial crime, racial discrimination and asylum seeking'.

Professor Geoff Palmer is president of the Edinburgh and Lothian Racial Equality Council and is a committee member of the Hanover Housing. He is active in community work, served on the Church of Scotland's Education Committee and has been awarded the William Darling bursary for work in race relations.

The closing date for bookings is Monday 6 June.
