LATEST: 12 June: Unfortunately it has proved necessary to change the arrangements concerning the park and ride scheme which will be operated by Stagecoach.

People wishing to use the park and ride car parks at Broxden or Scone will now have to take the public park and ride bus from the appropriate car park to Mill Street. This will mean paying the £1 return fare from Broxden or £1.50 return fare from Scone. At Mill Street you will be able to get on the free ‘Seeds of Hope bus’ which will bring you to Bells Sports Centre.  The buses run approximately every ten minutes from the Park and Ride car parks and the ‘Seeds of Hope’ buses will do continuous loops to the Sports’ Centre, so the maximum waiting time in Mill Street should also be in the region of ten minutes.

People arriving by bus or train should get onto the Park and Ride bus at the Leonard Street stop and travel to Mill Street where they can then get on the ‘Seeds of Hope’ bus. The ‘Seeds of Hope’ buses will be clearly marked, with the logo and event name on display in the front window of the bus. We do apologise for this inconvenience and will happily refund your bus fare on production of a valid bus ticket.

LATEST: 9 June: Following the news that Jurgen Moltmann is unable to speak at the Scottish Ecumenical Gathering, the organisers are please to welcome Professor John Drane to speak in his place. John will speak to the title, ‘God, hope and the future of the Church’. His address will be in the marquee from 12 noon – 1pm.  John describes himself as a Christian and a spiritual person; a student of all things spiritual; a thinker; traveller and one who is adventurous in mission. He is well known as an author and speaker and has previously taught in the Universities of Stirling and Aberdeen and is currently an adjunct Professor of New Testament and Practical Theology at Fuller Seminary, Pasadena, California. He is also co-chair of the Mission Theology Advisory Group of the Archbishops Council of the Church of England and of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Now that spring is finally here, it is time not just to think about seeds for your garden but also ‘Seeds of Hope’, the Scottish Ecumenical Gathering being hosted by ACTS, on Saturday 17 June, at Bells’ Sports Centre, Perth. We hope that this further detailed information about the day will encourage you, your family and friends to buy a ticket and come and share in the day. If you have already bought your ticket you can begin the hard task of deciding which events to go to during the course of the day. The planning group is looking forward to meeting you in Perth.
