A Local Ecumenical Partnership is defined as existing where there is a formal written agreement affecting the ministry, congregational life, buildings and/or mission projects of more than one denomination: and a recognition of that agreement by the ACTS Ecumenical Development Group, and authorisation by the appropriate denominational authorities.

This document provides an orientation process that seeks to enable clergy to gain this understanding. The process involves the support of a colleague from another denomination in the LEP, together with a person appointed by the local congregation, and reading essential documents.

In situations where two or more congregations share the same building for worship and/or other activities, it is good practice to set out in writing, the relationships between the parties involved. The document below sets out some of the issues which may need to be addressed in such a situation and is followed by an actual example of a shared building agreement.

Representatives of Scotland's religious communities came together to consider the role they wish to play in Scottish society.

At an interfaith conference a joint statement was agreed affirming the important contribution churches and faith groups make to our modern Scotland and their continued commitment to serving the communities of which they are a part. Representatives of the nine member churches of Action of Churches Together in Scotland (ACTS) were invited to participate.

Worship resources for Remembrance Sunday (9th November 2014), Advent 2014 and the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (January 2015) are now available on the website of Churches Together in Britain & Ireland (CTBI): www.ctbi.org.uk 

The report of the day conference, Nurturing Children in Faith, held in Scottish Churches House is now available for download. The day explored the role of home, school and faith community in the nurture process and recieved contributions from members of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh communities.

This was the theme of a day conference hosted by the Scottish Churches Rural Group. Over sixty people gathered to hear presentations which covered a wide range of topics including tourism, agriculture, energy, planning, and land use.
